🎋Tanabata Festival – Star Festival🎋
Date: July 7th, 2019 at 1pm – 4pm
Place: Etnografiska Museet (The Museum of Ethnography)
Free Admission.
Pre-registration not required. Welcome!
We will read the Japanese storybook ”Tanabata” (star festival) in Japanese and Swedish at 2pm and 3pm. Everyone is welcome, whether you are studying Japanese or would just like to listen. This event is free.
The Japanese Organizations kimono club KOSODE CLUB will be present to let children try on kimonos. Please note there is a limited amount. We will send you further information later.
You should bring color papers, scissors, origami papers and pens. JFS will also prepare for them, so don’t worry if you are not able to bring them.
The Kimono picnic hosted by Kimono de Jack Stockholm (kimono club) will be held at the same time. https://www.facebook.com/kimonodejackstockholm/

TANABATA – Star Festival
Tabata is a Japanese star festival, and is celebrated with writing wishes or poetry on origami paper which is later displayed on bamboo branches.
