A ladies professional SHOGI player Ms Madoka Kitao will hold an introductory workshop on the game called “Let’s catch the Lion”, (or known in Japanese as DOBUTSU SHOGI). This unique SHOGI variant was designed by Ms Kitao herself. It maintains the basic rules of the game of SHOGI, but uses a substantially smaller board, and substantially fewer pieces, which have very cute, colorful illustrations of animals. This workshop will be a good opportunity to meet a professional player of SHOGI, and we also hope that this will serve as a good entry point for you to the world of SHOGI.
The instructions will be provided in Japanese, but can be followed up in English or Swedish if required.
