Let’s enjoy SHOGI with “Let’s catch the Lion” – Workshop　was held on March 7th (Friday) 17:00 – 18:30　at The Japanese Society’s storage place (Bergsgatan 3, Kungsholmen)

We had this time an introductory lecture-demonstration focussing on a game called “Let’s catch the Lion”, (or known in Japanese as DOBUTSU SHOGI). This unique SHOGI variant is designed by Ms Kitao, a professional ladies’ shogi player. It maintains the basic rules of the game of SHOGI, but uses a substantially smaller board, and substantially fewer pieces, which have very cute, colorful illustrations of animals. We hope this workshop would be a good entry point for you to the world of SHOGI.

The instructions was provided in Japanese, but could be followed up in English or Swedish if required.
