Let’s enjoy SHOGI with “Let’s catch the Lion” – Workshop

The SHOGI Club will resume its meetings on 7 March, at a new venue in Bergsgatan 3, Kungsholmen.

We will have this time an introductory lecture-demonstration focussing on a game called “Let’s catch the Lion”, (or known in Japanese as DOBUTSU SHOGI). This unique SHOGI variant was designed by Ms Kitao, a professional ladies’ shogi player. It maintains the basic rules of the game of SHOGI, but uses a substantially smaller board, and substantially fewer pieces, which have very cute, colorful illustrations of animals. We hope this workshop will be a good entry point for you to the world of SHOGI.

The instructions will be provided in Japanese, but can be followed up in English or Swedish if required.

We will of course set up corners for expert players to practice, as usual. So feel free to join us !!
