It\u2019s the first new year for the Reiwa-era and we celebrate this with a spectacular show on stage. The first-ever Swedish Rakugo-storyteller Sanyuutei Jubei will perform on stage as well as Haruka Sassa from the Royal Opera and a Japanese Nyckelharpist (Swedish traditional instrument). We will also have wonderful performances with taiko drums, choir songs, and Yosakoi dance.<\/p>\n

Bon Aibon \u2013 Japanese Sweets in Sweden will be selling Nerikiri, Wagashi and other delicious Japanese pastries at the event. Bento-boxes will available for purchase. This year we will also have a selection of fantastic workshops such as Shogi, Japanese language caf\u00e9, calligraphy, origami, tea ceremony, ikebana, and traditional Japanese games. Don\u2019t forget that we also have the all you can eat mochi-buffet, \u201cfiskdamm\u201d for the children and a lottery.<\/p>\n

In the prize pot, there are nice things such as restaurant vouchers, rice, and Japanese sake. Please keep in mind that the prizes must be taken home the same day, and cannot be sent.<\/p>\n

~Setsubun Mamemaki~<\/p>\n

Setsubun is a Japanese tradition to welcome spring and is usually celebrated on the 3rd of February<\/a>. We\u2019re going to celebrate it a little early at the New Year celebration where we will throw soybeans at demons to chase away bad luck. This is a tradition for children in Japan.<\/p>\n

At the event, you can pay with Swish and cash.<\/p>\n

Directions: \u00a0Alviks kulturhus is close to Alvik subway-station. Take the green-line towards Alvik, H\u00e4sselby Strand, or \u00c5keshov. It takes 13 min from T-centralen.<\/p>\n
